LAHORE, Feb 01 (APP): In Lahore, the average Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 204, placing the city in the unhealthy category and reflecting poor air quality conditions.
Meanwhile, the concentration of PM2.5, the most dangerous air pollutant for human health, was measured at 25.8 times higher than the World Health Organization’s annual guideline value.
Such alarmingly high pollution levels increase the risk of respiratory and cardiovascular problems, particularly for children, the elderly, and people with pre-existing health conditions, and may also trigger eye irritation, coughing, and breathing difficulties among the general population.
