DC Launches polio campaign in Sialkot

SIALKOT, Feb 01 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali formally inaugurated a three-day anti-polio campaign in the district by administering polio drops to children at a ceremony held at the DC Office Conference Hall.
The campaign will continue from February 2-4 while February 5 will be observed as a
catch-up day to vaccinate children who may be missed during the main drive, ensuring
no child is left unvaccinated.
Addressing the ceremony, the deputy commissioner said that complete eradication of polio
remains a top priority of the Punjab government and district administration.
According to the Health Department, a target of 795,877 children has been set for the campaign in Sialkot district. A total of 2,878 teams, comprising 6,288 health workers and volunteers, will perform field duties during the drive.
