Country cannot progress without railway: Sheikh Rashid

ISLAMABAD, Sep 30 (APP):Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said he would bring improvement in railway during the first 100 days as the country could not progress without good railways.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had given him a task to bring betterment in railways and hoped that he would made the sector profitable, he said talking to a private news channel.
He said every employee would have to work for improving the railway and the government would take action against corrupt elements in the railway.
Sheikh Rashid said not a single corruption allegation or case was registered against him.
The minister informed that he would inaugurate a train from Sukkur to Karachi in Octobor 16, 2018 to facilitate the people of those areas.
He said partnership between the private and public sectors was the need of the hour.
To a question, he said he was a big supporter of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, but it could not be made successful without railway.
He said previous government of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) had spent billions of rupee on roads which was very unfortunate for the country.
Replying to a query, he said no NRO was going to be signed with Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and added politics of Nawaz Sharif and his family had ended in the country.
He was of the view that no comparison could be made between Benazir Bhutto and Mariyum Nawaz.
He said the government respected the judiciary and its decisions regarding Nawaz Sharif.
Prime Minister Imran Khan was an honest and hard working person and he was the only number one leader at this time. The country’s youth loved and liked PM Imran Khan because they know that he was working for the development of Pakistan, he added.
He said the government would complete its constitutional tenure. The country was facing economic crunch at this time and strengthening national economy would be a big achievement of the government.
