ICT Police conduct grand search and combing operation in Shams Colony

ISLAMABAD, Feb 01 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police conducted a grand search and combing operation in various areas of Shams Colony police station jurisdiction as part of ongoing efforts to curb crime and strengthen security in the federal capital.
A police spokesperson told APP on Sunday that the operation was carried out under the supervision of SP Industrial Area Zone. Lady police personnel also participated in the operation, while all officers and officials were thoroughly briefed before the exercise.

During the search operation, police teams checked 1,950 individuals, 1,450 households, and 388 shops, hostels and plazas. In addition, 361 motorcycles and 131 vehicles were also inspected.
The spokesperson said that during the operation, 10 suspicious persons and four motorcycles were shifted to the police station for further verification and legal proceedings.
He added that the purpose of the search and combing operation was to prevent crime and ensure a peaceful environment in the area.
The spokesperson said that Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has issued clear directions to conduct grand search operations across the district to eliminate criminal elements.
Citizens were urged to cooperate with the police during checking and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police.
