ICT Police put 18 lawbreakers behind bars; drugs, weapons recovered

ISLAMABAD, Feb 01 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have arrested 18 lawbreakers in separate operations across the federal capital and recovered drugs, illegal weapons and other contraband.
A police official told APP on Sunday that ICT police teams from Ramna, Shalimar, Noon, Shams Colony, Koral and Lohi Bher police stations arrested 10 accused involved in different criminal activities during targeted operations.
He said police recovered 2,405 grams of hashish, 179 grams of ice, 21 bottles of liquor, 12 intoxicating tablets, four pistols and one rifle along with ammunition from the possession of the arrested accused. Relevant cases have been registered, while further investigation is under way.
The official added that during a special campaign launched for the arrest of proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams arrested eight more criminals from different areas of the city.
He said the operations were carried out under the special directions of Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi as part of continued efforts to curb crime and maintain peace and tranquility in the federal capital.
The official said Islamabad Police remain committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens and will not allow any element to disturb public peace.
