Commissioner reviews safety measures at ongoing development projects

FAISALABAD, Jan 31 (APP): Divisional Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar reviewed safety measures at ongoing development projects and stressed their speedy completion before monsoon season.
Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Captain (retd) Nadeem Nasir, he inspected under-construction sites on Samundri Road, Jaranwala Road and Satiana Road where he examined the pace of work and directed the officials to ensure 100 percent compliance with prescribed safety protocols.
He issued clear instructions to all relevant departments and agencies and personally reviewed their implementation during visits to ongoing WASA projects.
He said that protection of public lives is top priority. Hence, all construction sites must be marked properly and kept sealed to avoid any untoward incidents, he added.
He also assigned the task of completing projects under Punjab Development Program before the onset of monsoon, emphasizing timely completion without compromising quality standards.
Meanwhile, the divisional commissioner and deputy commissioner visited Jail Road and Mall Road to review road repair and rehabilitation work being carried out under the supervision of divisional administration.
They directed the authorities concerned to accelerate asphalt-laying activities while ensuring complete transparency in the execution process.
Raja Jahangir Anwar said that in the second phase, work was in progress on 33 main and inner roads across the city.
He said that carpeting of 12 major roads under Communication and Works Department was also nearing completion. These initiatives would ensure improved, smooth and convenient travel facilities for the citizens, he added.
