DC reviews performance of price control magistrates

BAAWALPUR, Jan 31 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hassan Raza chaired a review meeting to assess the performance of price control magistrates across the district.
The meeting reviewed the availability of essential commodities at officially notified rates,
ongoing actions against profiteering, and measures taken to provide relief to the public.
During the briefing, it was informed that effective crackdowns were carried out against profiteers.
over the past month, resulting in fines totaling Rs 801,500. Price Control Magistrates conducted 8,605 inspections across the district, during which 783 cases of overpricing and 4,422 other violations were detected. The meeting was further informed that during price control operations, 4,849 shopkeepers were issued warnings, 467 individuals were fined, and 37 FIRs were registered against violators.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza directed the price control magistrates to further improve their performance and ensure the availability of essential food items at government-notified rates under all circumstances.
