DC inaugurates polio campaign at BVH

BAHAWALPUR, Jan 31 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza inaugurated anti-polio campaign by administering polio drops to children in the outdoor department of Bahawal Victoria Hospital.
On the occasion, he stated that the complete eradication of polio is a collective responsibility and that no negligence or lapse would be tolerated in fulfilling this national duty.
The deputy commissioner informed that the district-wide anti-polio campaign will officially commence from February 2 to February 4, 2026, while a catch-up polio activity will be carried out on February 5 to ensure that no child remains unvaccinated.
He said that more than 824,000 children under the age of five have been targeted to receive polio drops during the campaign. To achieve this target, 3,276 mobile teams have been formed to administer vaccines door-to-door. In addition, 195 fixed teams and 136 transit teams have been deployed at bus stands, railway stations, and other key locations to vaccinate children on the move.
