SWAT, Jan 31 (APP): Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam here Saturday directed WAPDA officials to provide immediate and maximum possible relief to the people of Swat and Shangla districts.
The minister directed to further accelerate the power restoration work in these districts where electricity infrastructure were badly affected due to recent torrential rains and snowfalls.
Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, and President of Pakistan Muslim League (N), Engineer Amir Muqam passed these directives during a high level meeting attended by senior officials of Wapda.
The meeting reviewed damages caused to the electricity system in Swat and Shangla due to recent heavy snowfall, as well as the measures being taken to restore power supply.
While briefing the Federal Minister, WAPDA officials informed him that the snowfall had caused severe damage to power transmission lines, poles, and other installations.
He expressed his determination that all relevant institutions would remain fully active until the complete restoration of the electricity system, and that no negligence of any kind would be tolerated.
