FAISALABAD, Jan 30 (APP):Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) President Farooq Yousaf Sheikh has welcomed Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) decision to launch a third weekly flight on Faisalabad-Karachi route from February 08 and urged the exporters to fully benefit from this improved air connectivity.
In a statement here on Friday, he said that previously only two flights operated from Faisalabad to Karachi every Tuesday and Friday, which often proved insufficient to meet the growing travel and business needs of industrialists and exporters.
With the addition of a third flight from Sunday, the business mobility and cargo-related coordination would significantly improve, he added.
Farooq Yousaf Sheikh appreciated the new PIA management for initiating the additional flight and thanked them for responding to the long-standing demand of business community.
He emphasized that Faisalabad, being a major industrial and export hub, required better and more frequent air links with Karachi to facilitate trade, exports and timely business engagements.
The FCCI Chief suggested that PIA should finalize its flight schedules in close coordination with FCCI to ensure maximum public convenience and optimal utilization of the service. The improved flight operations would not only support exporters but also strengthen overall economic and commercial activity in the region, he added.
