SI demoted, ASI dismissed from service on corruption charges

KHANEWAL, Jan 30 (APP): District Police Officer (DPO) Khanewal Ismail Kharrak has taken strict departmental action against police officials for abuse of authority and misconduct, reaffirming a zero-tolerance policy against corruption within the police force.
According to official sources, departmental accountability proceedings against two police officers of Sadar police station were held.
Sub-Inspector Ramzan Javed was demoted to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), while Assistant Sub-Inspector Muhammad Younis was dismissed from service.
The action was taken after charges of abuse of authority, and professional misconduct were proved during internal inquiry proceedings.
DPO Ismail Kharrak said that corruption, misuse of authority, and indiscipline would not be tolerated in the police department under any circumstances. He reiterated that the policy of zero tolerance against corruption and abuse of powers was being strictly implemented across the district.
He said, accountability within the police force was essential to restore public trust and ensure professional, transparent, and law-abiding policing.
