LAHORE, Jan 30 (APP):The Housing department has shared details on Lahore’s Master Plan 2050 in the Punjab Assembly (PA).
On a question from Member of Assembly Ahmar Rasheed Bhatti, Parliamentary Secretary Housing Department clarified the features of Lahore’s new Master Plan 2050, in which the organized and sustainable development of Lahore will have a central position.
According to Parliamentary Secretary Housing, regular classification of residential, commercial and industrial zones will be part of the Master Plan 2050, green belts, parks and environmental protection will get priority in the Master Plan 2050.
Planning for new roads and urban corridors to reduce traffic pressure will also be included in the new master plan. Prevention of illegal construction will be included in the main points of the Master Plan 2050. The housing sector will be expanded keeping in mind the increase in population.
The plan to improve modern infrastructure, drainage and sewage systems will be among the priorities.
The preservation of the city’s historical identity has been included in the Master Plan 2050. A strict monitoring system will be implemented for the implementation of the Plan, which will ensure green, brown and industrial areas and environmental protection.
According to the Parliamentary Secretary for Housing, the matter of the master plan prepared four years ago is under hearing in the Supreme Court.
