MULTAN, Jan 30 (APP): In wake of a recent tragic incident in Lahore, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) placed its Multan region on high security alert and issued strict safety directives to field staff on Friday.
Region General Manager Ahmad Jawad Khan Khakwani convened an emergency meeting of all section
in-charges to review and reinforce compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) during field operations. He stressed that no negligence would be tolerated in matters concerning public safety.
Khakwani directed that the physical presence of field staff at sites would be mandatory during excavation and repair work, and that safety protocols must be strictly observed until completion of all tasks. He further instructed that excavated pits must not be left open or unsecured under any circumstances.
All field staff and laborers have been ordered to strictly adhere to safety measures to prevent any untoward incidents, GM Multan Region concluded.
