KOHLU, Jan 30 (APP): Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti arrived in Kohlu on a one-day official visit, where he emphasized accelerating efforts to resolve tribal disputes, praised sacrifices made for peace and security, and announced major development initiatives for the district.
Upon his arrival, the Chief Minister was warmly received by former provincial minister Mir Naseebullah Marri, tribal elders, and supporters of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). MPA and PPP leader Ali Madad Jattak accompanied him during the visit.
Addressing tribal elders and party workers, Sarfraz Bugti paid tribute to Shaheed Mir Gul Khan Marri and Justice Muhammad Nawaz Marri, acknowledging the sacrifices of Kohlu’s people and security forces in restoring peace.
He announced an additional Rs 500 million grant for the Kohlu District Council in the current fiscal year, funds for Tuff tile installation and sewerage system improvement in Kohlu city, elevation of Rahman Abad, Garsani, and Tamboo from sub-tehsil to tehsil status and upgradation of Union Council Karam Khan City to sub-tehsil status.
Sarfraz Bugti described Kohlu as his “second home”, citing longstanding ties with the district.
The Chief Minister stressed that tribal conflicts must be resolved through dialogue and mutual understanding, not through the internet or social media. He said that alongside his official responsibilities, he carries a tribal responsibility to eliminate disputes and steer the region toward collective development and prosperity.
Sarfraz Bugti noted that the Marri tribes are politically aware and responsible, emphasizing that disputes among brotherly Baloch tribes should be resolved through consultation and reconciliation. Bugti reiterated the government’s readiness to sit with tribal elders to end long-standing conflicts.
Former provincial minister Mir Naseebullah Khan Marri and PPP leader Haji Ali Madad Jattak also addressed the gathering, echoing support for peace, development, and reconciliation efforts in the region.
