ISLAMABAD, Jan 30 (APP):On the directive of the Prime Minister, work has begun on establishing a new international-standard convention centre in Islamabad. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday visited the proposed site located near Murree Road and the Bhara Kahu Bypass.
During the visit, Minister Naqvi inspected the location and issued immediate orders to clear all illegal occupations from the proposed land. He directed authorities to take indiscriminate legal action against all encroachers and to demolish every unlawful structure present at the site.
“No concession or compensation will be given to illegal occupants,” Naqvi asserted, emphasizing the government’s strict policy on land encroachments.
Mohsin Naqvi said that providing world-class facilities in Islamabad is a key priority. He added that the completion of the project will facilitate major international events in Pakistan, including the SCO Summit and other global conferences.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Memon, and other senior officials were also present during the inspection.
