WAH CANTT , Jan 30 (APP):Two wanted and dangerous robbers were arrested in injured conditions while two of their accomplices managed to flee after a late-night shootout with police in the Taxila police station’s jurisdiction .
According to police sources, a police party attempted to stop four motorcyclists during routine patrolling late at night.
The suspects opened fire on the police team, prompting a retaliatory action.
During the exchange of fire, two robbers were injured and apprehended, while the remaining two escaped under the cover of darkness.
The arrested suspects were identified as Zubair and Faheem alias Imran.
The police recovered a motorcycle snatched at gunpoint from a citizen a few days earlier, along with illegal weapons, from their possession.
The police said the arrested robbers were wanted in multiple cases involving robberies, vehicle theft, and illegal possession of arms .
The Senior police officers, along with additional force, reached the spot soon after the incident, and a search operation has been launched to arrest the fleeing suspects.
The injured robbers were shifted to the hospital , while further investigation is underway.
