KARACHI, Jan 29 (APP):The Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme has been formally launched across Sindh from NED University Karachi, under which 20,000 modern laptops will be distributed among students of the province.
Federal Government Spokesperson for Sindh Affairs, Raja Khaliq Zaman Ansari, said that the initiative reflects Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s vision to empower youth through modern education, technology, and digital skills. He emphasized that the country’s future depends on educated and skilled young people, and investment in their education guarantees national progress.
He said the laptop scheme had been discontinued in 2018 by the previous PTI government, depriving millions of students of modern educational facilities. The current federal government has not only restored the scheme but has relaunched it with greater transparency, effectiveness, and an expanded scope.
Raja Khaliq Zaman Ansari praised the efforts of Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Rana Mashhood Khan, stating that under his leadership, meaningful opportunities are being created for young people. He also commended the services of Sindh Coordinator PM Youth Programme Fahad Shafiq for ensuring effective implementation of the scheme across the province.
He added that the laptop scheme will enable students to actively contribute to research, information technology, advanced learning, and the digital economy, which are essential for national development.
The spokesperson said the federal government is not neglecting the youth of Sindh and is taking practical steps to integrate them into the national mainstream through education, employment, and technology-driven initiatives.
Concluding his statement, Raja Khaliq Zaman Ansari reaffirmed that the Government of Pakistan will fulfill all commitments made to the youth and will continue education-friendly policies on a sustained basis.
