Major underground works of WASA schemes complete on Millat Road

FAISALABAD, Jan 29 (APP):Managing Director (MD) Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) Saqib Raza on Thursday said that major underground works of WASA development schemes have been completed on Millat Road and now road rebuilding and rehabilitation is underway to restore smooth traffic flow in the area.
During site visit to the development schemes, he said that 3,540 feet pipeline had been laid under one project while 2,500 feet pipeline was installed under the second scheme with an estimated cost of Rs.440 million.
These public welfare schemes were designed to strengthen underground infrastructure and improve drainage capacity along this busy corridor, he added.
He said that the road up to Noor Pur Mandi would be fully restored and opened for traffic by January 31 while construction and rehabilitation of the road on Sandal College side would be completed by February 10.
He reaffirmed WASA commitment to service delivery and said that WASA is determined to provide reliable and quality drainage services.
The sewerage system in the city was being upgraded under a comprehensive program for delivering a sustainable and long-term solution to longstanding sewerage issues being faced by the residents, he added.
