ISLAMABAD, Jan 29 (APP):The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad on Thursday heard a case related to a social media post filed on the request of journalist Rauf Klasra and approved bail for the accused after a settlement between the parties.
The case was taken up by Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah. The matter concerned the registration of a case against a citizen over a social media post. The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) had registered the case on the application submitted by Rauf Klasra.
During the hearing, journalist Rauf Klasra appeared before the court and stated that he had forgiven the accused, identified as Zain. He informed the court that he had no objection if the accused was granted bail or discharged from the case.
Based on the statement of the complainant and the settlement reached between the parties, the court approved the bail of the accused. The magistrate noted that the compromise removed the need for further objections from the complainant at this stage.
