WAH CANTT , Jan 29 (APP):The Taxila Police on Thursday conducted a successful operation against drug trafficking, recovering a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine (ice) and arresting a suspect .
According to police officials, the accused was apprehended during routine checking after his movements raised suspicion.
A thorough search led to the recovery of five kilograms of ice from his possession, they added.
The officials said a case was registered and the suspect was taken into custody.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrested individual revealed that he had been supplying narcotics to various parts of the city, including educational institutions, sparking serious concerns over drug abuse among students and youth.
Police authorities stated that further investigation was underway to trace and dismantle the wider drug supply network involved in the illegal trade.
They reiterated their commitment to continuing strict action against drug peddlers to ensure a drug-free and safer environment for the public.
