ISLAMABAD, Jan 28 (APP):Federal Minister for Board of Investment (BOI) Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh on Wednesday said that the Pakistan-China Mineral Cooperation Forum was a significant initiative aimed at further strengthening economic and investment cooperation between Pakistan and China.
Addressing the Pak-China Mineral Cooperation Forum as chief guest, the minister said that Pakistan and China were bound by a strong and time-tested bond of “iron friendship,” which continued to deepen through mutual trust, cooperation and shared development goals.
“I have personally witnessed the extraordinary development of China, from which Pakistan can learn a great deal,” he said, adding that enhanced collaboration in minerals and other key sectors would open new avenues for sustainable growth.
The minister emphasized the need to further expand people-to-people and business-to-business contacts between the two countries, noting that more than 300 Pakistani companies had visited China in September 2025 alone.
He informed that 167 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed during the Pak-China Business-to-Business Conference, and the Board of Investment was actively working on the implementation of all signed agreements.
Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said that the BOI was providing full facilitation to investors by improving Ease of Doing Business and offering incentives through Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
He added that regulatory reforms were underway to further improve the investment climate and create a more conducive environment for foreign investors in Pakistan.
The minister reaffirmed that the Board of Investment remained fully committed to promoting and facilitating foreign investment in the country, particularly from China, to achieve long-term economic development and shared prosperity.
