PESHAWAR, Jan 27 (APP):The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, organized an online open court (Khuli Kachehri) as an important initiative on Tuesday to ensure prompt and effective redressal of public complaints.
The KP Minister for Public Health Engineering, Fazal Shakoor Khan, participated in the online session. He was accompanied by the Secretary Public Health Engineering, Additional Secretary, Chief Engineers, and other senior officers of the departmental.
During the online open court, the Provincial Minister listened to public complaints and issues from across the province through live telephone calls and social media.
Participants highlighted issues related to the provision of clean drinking water, drainage, and ongoing development schemes, and also shared valuable suggestions to further improve the department’s performance.
The Provincial Minister on-the-spot issued directives to the concerned officers for immediate and effective resolution of public complaints and emphasized that any negligence or delay in addressing public issues would not be tolerated.
He said that timely and transparent redressal of public grievances is the top priority of the KP government.
Fazal Shakoor Khan said that the primary objective of the online open court is to strengthen direct communication between the public and the PHE department, ensure swift resolution of public issues, and provide relief to citizens at their doorstep.
He added that these open courts are being organized on the directives of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi, terming them a people-friendly initiative.
The Provincial Minister further said that despite limited resources, the KP government is making sincere and concerted efforts to resolve public issues in a comprehensive and serious manner, and in this regard, the PHE department is being made more active and accountable.
He assured that effective implementation of all public welfare schemes would be ensured and that no effort would be spared in serving the people.
He thanked the public for taking keen interest and for registering their complaints during the open court.
He further advised that for certain development-related issues, citizens should remain in contact with their respective elected Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs), as development funds have been allocated to MPAs to include and address schemes in their respective constituencies.
