DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Jan 27 (APP):The Dera police have arrested two alleged drug peddlers in separate operations and recovered 835 grams of hashish and 25 bottles of liquor during an ongoing crackdown against narcotics across the district.
According to police spokesman, the Paharpur police, led by SDPO Paharpur Circle Malik Abid Iqbal along with SHO Zafar Abbas, carried out a successful operation and arrested a drug dealer identified as Muhammad Tahir son of Abdul Rehman, a resident of Basti Maqboolabad. During the arrest, the police also recovered 835 grams of hashish from his possession.
In another operation, Dera Town police, under the leadership of SDPO Suburban Circle Kashif Sattar, along with SHO Khalid Javed Lashari and ASI Umair Jibran, conducted a raid on the basis of a tip-off and apprehended a notorious liquor seller named Sanaullah alias Bhola, son of Falak Sher, a resident of Wanda Dhawa. The police recovered 25 bottles of liquor from the accused. The cases were registered against the arrested accused.
District Police Officer Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada appreciated the performance of police teams, saying, the crackdown against drug dealers and criminal elements would continue without discrimination to ensure a safer and drug-free society.
