PESHAWAR, Jan 26 (APP):Opposition members staged a walkout from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Monday after leader of the opposition Dr Ebad Khan concluded his speech, escalating political tensions.
CM aide for Information Shafi Jan strongly criticized the opposition, saying the leader’s abrupt departure was “illogical.”
He defended the government’s rescue efforts in Tirah and questioned the allocation of funds under the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), stating that KP received a special package of 31 billion rupees and only 132 billion of 700 billion announced for tribal districts post-FATA merger.
Shafi Jan also raised doubts about a forensic lab video linked to Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, suggesting it was from May 9.
PML-N’s Sobia Shahid protested a lack of quorum, but continued speaking on the Speaker’s instructions. The session was later adjourned amid opposition protests.
