SARGODHA, Jan 26 (APP):Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan reiterated that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)
will continue to raise its voice for the rights of people, emphasizing the party’s dedication
to democracy and public welfare.
He made these remarks during a visit to Sargodha, where he was warmly welcomed at
the PPP secretariat by the Divisional President of the PPP Sargodha region,
Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi.
During his address, the governor highlighted the importance of democracy as a tool for giving
people a voice. He also underscored the hardships endured by PPP leadership, particularly their
sacrifices and imprisonments, all for the cause of democracy.
“The PPP is the only party that has consistently fought for welfare and rights of the people,”
said the governor.
The governor’s house in Lahore had now been transformed into the people’s governor house,
he added.
He also praised the party for its legacy of sacrifices, stating that the PPP remains a party of martyrs
who have contributed immensely to the country’s democratic struggle.
Later, Information Secretary of PPP Nadeem Afzal Chun also addressed the gathering, affirming
that the PPP is the party of the middle-class and marginalized segments of society. He reiterated
the party’s long-standing commitment to advocating for the basic rights of laborers and
the underprivileged.
Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi, in his welcome address, praised the PPP as a role model party for
workers and the poor.
