ISLAMABAD, Jan 26 (APP):The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that India has no right to celebrate its Republic Day in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that India is not a democratic country but is governed by Hindutva communal ideological outfits and has militarily occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The statement said that the people of Kashmir are observing India’s Republic Day as Black Day and deplored that whenever a special day of India approaches, Indian forces accelerate their state terrorism in IIOJK. It urged the Kashmiri people to remain steadfast in their just cause of freedom.
The APHC said that the Kashmiri people have continued their struggle for the right to self-determination, but due to India’s rigid stance, the Kashmir dispute remains unresolved and pending before the United Nations.
Other APHC parties and leaders, including the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, Jammu Kashmir Muslim League, Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Wahadat-e-Islami, Pairwane Willayat, Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, Advocate Haseeb Wani and others, in their statements said that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory; therefore, India has no right to celebrate its Republic Day in IIOJK.
They added that despite the atrocities committed by Indian troops, the Kashmiri people would not abandon their struggle and demanded that Kashmiris be granted their birthright to self-determination in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
The statements said that India has militarily occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the will of the Kashmiri people and that the current situation in IIOJK poses a serious challenge to the international community. They appealed to world powers to help resolve the longstanding Kashmir dispute in line with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
