NATHIAGALI, Jan 26 (APP):Road restoration and relief activities in Galiyat continued for the third consecutive day following heavy snowfall, as the Abbottabad district administration intensified efforts to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety.
According to officials, the operations are being carried out under the supervision of the district administration. Road clearance and relief work are being monitored by Additional Assistant Commissioner Galiyat, Muhammad Tariq.
Road movement has been restored from Nathiagali to Donga Gali, Changla Gali, Khairagali Link Road, and from Swaar Gali to Baryan, the Punjab–Murree entry point. During the operation, the main road was fully cleared and opened for all types of traffic with two-way movement.
Heavy machinery remained deployed on various link roads, while additional machinery was shifted from Baryan to Changla Gali to recover an affected vehicle. The vehicle, belonging to a family traveling from Punjab, had slipped towards a ravine due to heavy snowfall and slippery conditions. All family members had already been shifted to a safe location.
On the third day of the operation, a rescue recovery vehicle was used to successfully retrieve the vehicle. Following complete road clearance, the vehicle was moved from Changla Gali town to the main road.
The district administration stated that all available resources are being utilized to ensure the safety of citizens and tourists, maintain traffic flow, and ensure timely restoration of roads amid prevailing weather conditions.
