ISLAMABAD, Jan 25 (APP):Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, has praised the National Highway Authority (NHA) teams for their exceptional performance in keeping national highways and motorways operational despite severe snowfall and challenging weather conditions.
The Minister stated that the dedication shown by NHA staff in ensuring uninterrupted connectivity is truly commendable, said a press release.
In a special statement, Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan paid tribute to the field staff working in the most difficult terrains of Murree, Chitral, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. “Our hardworking workers and field staff are the true assets of our organization, ensuring road restoration through their tireless efforts,” the Minister remarked.
He added that timely interventions, including continuous salt sprinkling and the strategic deployment of heavy machinery on the Murree Expressway and other key arteries, played a vital role in preventing accidents and maintaining safety.
Looking ahead, Abdul Aleem Khan has issued strict directives to the NHA to remain fully prepared and on high alert for the upcoming spell of snowfall expected across the country.
He emphasized that providing uninterrupted access to highways and ensuring the convenience of the public is a top national priority. The Minister also urged travelers and tourists to cooperate fully with the field staff in difficult areas to ensure a safe and smooth journey for all.
