ISLAMABAD, Jan 25 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police’s Safe City Islamabad hosted a delegation of Chinese police officers who visited the facility as part of a study tour from Pakistan’s friendly country, China.
An official told APP on Sunday that Deputy Inspector General (DG) Safe City/DIG Traffic Muhammad Haroon Joya, along with Director IT Atif Abbas, Director Systems Faraz Memon and Assistant Director Safe City Abbas Mehdi, conducted a detailed tour of Safe City Islamabad for the visiting delegation.
During the visit, the Chinese police officers were taken to the Command and Control Center, Police Operations Center hall, and other core components of the Safe City system, including state-of-the-art surveillance camera networks. The delegation was comprehensively briefed on the operational mechanisms, technological capabilities and overall effectiveness of the system.
The officials informed the delegation that Safe City Islamabad is playing a vital role in policing and public safety through various modern technology-driven initiatives, including the Police Operations Center, Emergency Control Center, Online Women Police Station, Dispatch Control Center, e-Challan system, and the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline.
They were also briefed on the performance of Safe City surveillance cameras installed across the federal capital, which are significantly contributing to crime prevention, law enforcement support and the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
It was further shared that facial recognition cameras installed at entry and exit points of the city are effectively assisting in the identification and tracking of suspicious individuals.
The visiting Chinese police delegation appreciated the advanced technological infrastructure of Islamabad Police and acknowledged its effectiveness in ensuring urban security. They thanked DG Safe City/DIG Traffic Muhammad Haroon Joya and his team for arranging a comprehensive and informative visit.
