NATHIAGALI, Jan 24 (APP):Following heavy snowfall in the Galiyat region, the district administration has intensified road clearance and restoration operations on Saturday, while all entry points to Galiyat, including Harnu and Barian, have been completely closed for traffic to ensure public safety.
Acting on the directives of the Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad, the Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) has deployed heavy machinery to clear snow from major routes. Work is progressing at a fast pace to restore two-way traffic on the Galiyat–Murree Road, which remains blocked due to accumulated snow.
To closely supervise relief and clearance activities, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Gohar Ali and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Relief) are present in Galiyat. Additional Assistant Commissioner Galiyat Muhammad Tariq and the Tehsildar Abbottabad are also on-site, monitoring operations and ensuring timely restoration of roads.
The district administration has urged citizens and tourists to avoid travel towards Galiyat until roads are fully cleared and declared operational. Authorities have emphasized that traffic will be restored immediately after completion of snow removal and improvement in weather conditions.
