MINSK, 23 January (BelTA/APP): A delegation from the business community of the United Republic of Tanzania visited Belarusian State University (BSU), BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian university.
The delegation included Chairman of Kiluwa Group Ltd. Mohamed Said Kiluwa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Republic of Tanzania to Russia and Belarus Fredrick Ibrahim Kibuta, as well as representatives from business and media.
“Educational cooperation between our countries is carried out under the memorandum of understanding signed in 2025,” said Belarusian First Deputy Education Minister Aleksandr Bakhanovich. “Tanzanian citizens are studying in Belarus in a number of medical specialties. Our meeting will serve as a productive continuation of the existing cooperation and open new prospects in the fields of business education, joint student training, production, and scientific work.”
BSU Rector Andrei Korol noted the university’s strong interest in developing partnerships along the African vector. To illustrate this point, he pointed to the productive experience of launching the “African Studies” major in 2025 within the International Relations Faculty – a program that quickly became one of the most popular choices for applicants in the recent admissions cycle. “Currently, more than 80 students from the continent are studying at BSU – representatives of over 15 countries, including Chad, Nigeria, Egypt, and Zimbabwe. The university is ready to provide all necessary conditions for comfortable and effective study and living in Belarus for new students from Tanzania,” he added.
Fredrick Ibrahim Kibuta emphasized the interest of several Tanzanian universities in collaborating with BSU in the fields of artificial intelligence and information technology. Possible forms of cooperation include academic exchange of teaching staff and the export of BSU’s knowledge-intensive products.
