ISLAMABAD, Jan 21 (APP):Jazz – Pakistan’s leading connectivity provider from JazzWorld – and Islamic Relief Pakistan, one of the country’s largest humanitarian organizations, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore strategic collaboration aimed at advancing digital inclusion, strengthening community resilience, and enhancing humanitarian response across Pakistan.
The partnership brings together Jazz’s nationwide digital infrastructure and technology capabilities with Islamic Relief Pakistan’s deep community reach and on-ground humanitarian expertise. Together, the two organizations will explore scalable, technology-enabled solutions to support underserved and climate- vulnerable communities.
Under the MoU, Jazz and Islamic Relief Pakistan will assess joint initiatives focused on expanding digital literacy and skills development for women and youth, promoting entrepreneurship readiness, and supporting climate-smart livelihoods. The collaboration will also explore digital tools and platforms to assist smallholder farmers through improved access to information, market linkages, and agri-business support, while strengthening early-warning and response mechanisms for communities exposed to climate-related risks.
In addition, the partnership envisages the use of digital solutions to support poverty graduation efforts for ultra-poor households, facilitate education continuity and psychosocial support for orphan-guardian families, and enhance coordination during humanitarian emergencies.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Zaheer Mehdi, Group Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer, Jazz, said: “Connectivity today is about far more than access—it is about resilience, opportunity, and inclusion. This collaboration with Islamic Relief Pakistan reflects Jazz’s commitment to leveraging technology as a force for good, enabling vulnerable communities to better prepare for, respond to, and recover from the challenges they face.”
Asif Sherazi, Country Director, Islamic Relief Pakistan, added: “By combining our humanitarian experience with Jazz’s digital capabilities, we aim to develop practical, scalable solutions that not only address immediate needs, but also help communities build long-term resilience and self-reliance.”
This collaboration represents a shared commitment to harnessing digital innovation for humanitarian impact, ensuring that communities across Pakistan are better connected, informed, and equipped to navigate an increasingly complex risk landscape.
