ISLAMABAD, Jan 21 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired an important meeting at the Central Police Office to review community policing initiatives, police welfare measures and ongoing development projects.
A police spokesperson told APP on Wednesday that the meeting was attended by AIG General Syed Inayat Ali Shah, AIG Operations Shoaib Masood, along with senior officers from the development and accounts wings.
During the meeting, the IGP Rizvi conducted a detailed review of efforts aimed at promoting community policing, provision of modern and quality facilities to citizens, welfare of the police force and progress on development projects.
Issuing clear directives, IGP Rizvi stressed that the concept of community policing must be promoted in an effective manner and policing standards further improved through close cooperation with citizens.
He said comprehensive and practical measures, with active public participation, should be adopted to eliminate crime and ensure the establishment of a safe and peaceful society.
Emphasising citizen facilitation, the IGP Rizvi directed that complainants visiting police stations and facilitation centres must be provided all possible facilities and their issues resolved on a priority basis.
He further instructed that police stations and other police buildings be upgraded in line with modern requirements and that all ongoing development projects be completed within the stipulated time-frame.
Declaring police welfare as a top priority, IGP Rizvi said the well-being of officers and personnel must be ensured at all costs, adding that issues faced by police personnel should be addressed promptly.
He also directed officers to regularly hold orderly rooms in their respective divisions and zones to identify and resolve issues faced by police personnel in a timely manner.
Concluding the meeting, IGP Rizvi reiterated that protecting citizens’ lives and property, providing modern and efficient services, and safeguarding the welfare of the police force remain among the top priorities of Islamabad Police, aimed at making the federal capital a model, safe and people-friendly city.
