Women’s trials conclude in Rawalpindi Div for Khelta Punjab Pink Games

RAWALPINDI, Jan 21 (APP):Trials for women athletes from the Rawalpindi division in boxing, basketball, table tennis, taekwondo and wushu concluded on the third day of selections for the Khelta Punjab Pink Games Wednesday.
The trials were held here at the Shehbaz Sharif Sports Complex under the supervision of District Officer Sports Rawalpindi Waheed Ahmed, Divisional Sports  Officer Shams Tauheed Abbasi, Aamir Ausaf, other sports officers and officials of the respective associations. Additional Commissioner (General) Talha Naeem Tabani attended the event as chief guest.
Hundreds of under-21 women athletes from all six districts of the division — Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Talagang and Murree — participated in the trials, from which divisional teams were selected.
According to officials, during the first two days of trials, teams for karate, mass wrestling, archery, athletics, badminton and volleyball had already been finalized.
Trials for the Rawalpindi Division women’s hockey team will be held on Thursday at Danish High School, Jand, in the Attock District.
