PESHAWAR, Jan 21 (APP):Under the directives of District Police Officer Khyber Waqar Ahmed police have intensified operations against drug peddlers and smugglers across the district.
In this regard Jamrud police set up a special checkpoint under the supervision of SHO Jamrud Sadiq Khan led by In charge Nawab Shah Shaheed Police Post Wazir Dhand Waqif Khan with the assistance of Assistant In charge Iqbal Khan.
During the checking a suspicious motorcyclist was stopped and upon search 12 kilograms of hashish were recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Bismillah Khan resident of Peshawar.
The suspect was arrested and shifted to the lockup while further investigation is underway.
SHO Jamrud Sadiq Khan stated that security at various points has been further tightened on the directives of the DPO and Jamrud police are determined to eliminate drug trafficking and other crimes from the area.
