PESHAWAR, Jan 20 (APP):Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control (ET&NC) Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to establish a ‘Facilitation Desk’ at Mardan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI) to provide traders with convenience and assistance regarding tax matters, including registering complaints, guidance and prompt follow-up.
This was stated by Secretary Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khalid Ilyas during his visit to the chamber on Tuesday.
The visit was paid in line under the public welfare initiative “Ikhtiyar Awam Ka” (Empowering the People) of the provincial government. The initiative aims to empower citizens and provide direct access to government departments. Excise & Taxation Officer (ETO) Mardan Khalid Khan also accompanied the Secretary during the visit.
During the visit, a meeting was held with Owais Khan, President of Mardan Chamber of Commerce and the executive members, focusing on issues related to taxation. Traders shared the challenges and concerns they face regarding taxes.
Secretary Excise attentively listened to the concerns of the business community and assured them of timely resolution.
He directed the Excise & Taxation Officer to prepare a comprehensive report on the issues and concerns raised by the Chamber of Commerce to ensure these matters are addressed effectively.
The Chamber of Commerce assured full cooperation with the Excise Department and the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to make the tax system efficient, transparent and business-friendly.
