ISLAMABAD, Jan 20 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police officers have begun receiving Chinese language training as part of a capacity-building initiative launched with the cooperation of the Chinese Embassy, aimed at improving professional skills and service delivery in the federal capital.
An official told APP on Tuesday that the inaugural ceremony of the Chinese language course was held at the Islamabad Hotel, where DIG Headquarters Malik Jameel Zafar and Director Special Initiatives Shams-ul-Haq Durrani attended as chief guests.
The official said that following the inauguration, Director Special Initiatives Shams-ul-Haq Durrani also held a meeting with course instructors at the Capital Police College Islamabad to review the structure, teaching methodology and objectives of the newly launched programme.
During the ceremony, the speakers highlighted the growing importance of the Chinese language for policing, enhancement of professional capacity, and further strengthening the long-standing Pakistan-China friendship. They emphasized that improved communication skills would help police officers perform their duties more effectively while dealing with foreign nationals.
The instructors briefed the participants on the course objectives, instructional system and future plans to expand educational and cultural cooperation. Expert trainers are imparting practical language skills to ICT Police officers to support field duties and professional interaction.
Director Special Initiatives Shams-ul-Haq Durrani said that learning the Chinese language would enhance coordination, improve service delivery, and contribute to modern, people-friendly policing. He added that Islamabad Police remains committed to innovative training initiatives to strengthen professionalism and institutional capacity in the federal capital.
