LAHORE, Jan 20 (APP):The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has received over 14,000 applications for international certifications under its Global IT Certifications Program since September 2024.
This was highlighted during a progress review meeting presided over by PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf. PITB Director General e-Governance Sajid Latif, Director Skills Development Wing Chaudhry Ahmad Islam and other senior officials were also present.
During the briefing on Tuesday, it was shared that through the PITB-developed portal, the eligibility of more than 7,900 candidates has been verified to date. Additionally, payments of 448 applicants have been successfully verified, while the fee reimbursement process is underway for 346 certified candidates after verification of their certifications.
So far, 231 young professionals who have successfully completed their certifications have received a full transfer of their certification fee directly into their bank accounts. The Global IT Certifications Program aims to equip youth with internationally recognized digital skills, enhancing their employability in global technology markets.
Speaking on the occasion, PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf stated that the program provides young professionals with the opportunity to obtain certifications recognized by leading global technology companies. He further emphasized that the Punjab government is fully reimbursing the certification fee for candidates who successfully complete their certifications, reinforcing its commitment to youth empowerment and digital skills development.
