Uzbekistan willing to launch value-added joint ventures: Minhojiddin Raufov

FAISALABAD, Jan 20 (APP):Minhojiddin Raufov, Head of Uzbek Trade Delegation, said that Uzbekistan is willing to launch
value-added joint ventures with Pakistani counterparts to fully exploit the available raw material
available in the both countries.
Addressing the business community during a meeting in the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI), he appreciated the progress made by Pakistan in the field of textile and said that Pakistan is already in contact with Uzbek investors and is purchasing yarn for its domestic consumption in addition to manufacturing export surplus. He proposed that two countries should consider launching joint ventures as the international community was doling out loans to Uzbekistan while cheap electricity, gas and other raw materials are available in abundance in their country.
He said that joint ventures established in Uzbekistan would provide a huge market of landlocked Central Asian States where their surplus products could be exported without any hurdle.
On this occasion, Madam Dilorom Abdullaeva said that animals’ skins are available in abundance in Uzbekistan but we intend to convert it into value-added shoes and bags for export purposes. She said that her country was looking for cooperation from Pakistani counterparts to help them in this field.
She requested the FCCI to arrange a delegation for B2B meetings with their counterparts in Uzbekistan and assured that a subsidized package could also be offered to the businessmen intending to participate in the exhibitions organized in Uzbekistan. She said that logistics and banking are prerequisite for bilateral trade and both these facilities are available in Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
Mr Rehan Naseem Bharara, Immediate Past President FCCI, said that he is already doing business with Central Asian States including Uzbekistan. He stressed the need to motivate the businessmen of the two countries to exchange views and explore new opportunities to enhance bilateral trade for the benefit of the two nations.  He also introduced Faisalabad and FCCI and said that regular exchange of trade delegations would strengthen  bilateral trade.
Mian Muhammad Tayyab, Umer Farooq Khalon, Junaid Mehmood and other members participated in the question answer session while Muhammad Ali, Executive Committee Member offered vote of thanks.
Later on,  Rehan Naseem Bharara  decorated the guests with collar pins specially designed to mark the 50 Years Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the FCCI. He also presented them FCCI shields.
Mr Kasimov Ilkhomjon of Uzbekistan was also present at the meeting, along with Muhammad Yousaf and  Muhammad Ahmed.
