LAHORE, Jan 20 (APP):A new biometric verification system has come into force from Tuesday in courts across Punjab, including the Lahore High Court and all district courts, aimed at enhancing transparency and eliminating fraudulent practices in the judicial process.
Under the newly implemented system, biometric verification has been made mandatory for all parties before any court proceedings. Petitioners, respondents, and sureties will now be required to undergo biometric verification through NADRA.
The court sources said that without biometric verification, case hearings will not be conducted and bail bonds will also not be accepted.
The initiative seeks to curb fake cases, bogus sureties, and the use of false identities in courts. The move will significantly improve transparency and ensure the presence of genuine litigants during proceedings.
Legal experts have described the enforcement of the biometric system as a major judicial reform, while judicial circles say it marks the beginning of a new era of accountability and transparency in the court system.
