Amb Khan underlines significant role of bilateral trade in Pak-UAE brotherly ties

ISLAMABAD, Jan 20 (APP):Ambassador of Pakistan Shafqat Ali Khan on Tuesday, highlighting the historic and brotherly relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, underscored that bilateral trade played a pivotal role in further cementing this partnership.
The ambassador met a delegation of the Pakistan Business Council (PBC) Dubai at the Consulate General of Pakistan, a press release said.
Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan appreciated the continued efforts of the Pakistan Business Council in promoting trade, investment, and economic linkages between Pakistan and the UAE.
He reaffirmed embassy’s and consulate’s support to PBC initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral trade and facilitating the Pakistani business community in the UAE.
The ambassador encouraged PBC to play an active role in guiding new Pakistani businessmen and entrepreneurs by creating awareness about the UAE’s regulatory frameworks, compliance requirements, and evolving market dynamics.
The delegation was led by Muhammad Shabbir Merchant, Chairman PBC, and included management committee members Kamran Ahmed Riaz, Iftikhar Ali Tatlah, Noor Karim Afridi, Saleem Tabani, and Muhammad Iqbal Dawood. Ali Zeb Khan, Trade and Investment Counsellor, along with other officers of the consulate, were also present during the meeting.
Muhammad Shabbir Merchant briefed the ambassador on various initiatives undertaken by PBC for the welfare of the Pakistani business community, including advocacy, networking, and capacity-building efforts aimed at strengthening the footprint of Pakistani businesses in the UAE.
