NUST hosts executive course for 53rd common training programme of CSA

ISLAMABAD, Jan 20 (APP):The Iqbal Executive Development Centre (IEDC), Jinnah School of Public Policy & Leadership (JSPPL-NUST), commenced a two-day executive training programme for 136 probationary officers of the 53rd Common Training Programme (CTP) of Civil Services Academy (CSA).
Titled “21st Century Leadership Transformation for the Digital Era,” the programme’s inaugural ceremony was graced by General (Retd) Zubair Mahmood Hayat, former Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), and Rector NUST Dr Muhammad Zahid Latif.
In his opening address, Rector welcomed the participants and emphasised the need for transformational public leadership to address Pakistan’s evolving governance challenges.
He highlighted integrity, strategic foresight, ethical courage, and citizen-centric service delivery, enabled by digital transformation, as core attributes of effective public leadership.
Ensuing was an enlightening talk by the former CJCSC on “Going Beyond – Leadership and Governance.”
The session focused on the significance of reflective thinking, purposeful statecraft, strategic intelligence, operational clarity, and leadership beyond conventional administrative roles.
The first day of the programme focused on Digital Economy and Digital Governance, while the second day is dedicated to personal development, leadership, and societal resilience, reinforcing NUST’s commitment to developing future-ready public sector leaders.
