RAWALPINDI, Jan 20 (APP):Prominent religious scholar Allama Syed Riaz Hussain Shah on Tuesday said Hazrat Ali (AS) strengthened the caliphate by consolidating the system of governance and promoting obedience to the Divine authority.
Addressing a Quranic teaching session, Allama Riaz said the holy book was revealed to provide spiritual strength to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and to guide humanity, adding that its teachings transformed fear into peace and uncertainty into faith.
Allama Riaz, who is the Supreme Patron of the Institute of Islamic Teachings Pakistan, said the Quran offered comprehensive guidance for human life and laid the foundation for justice, discipline and moral order in society.
Speaking on the concept of the caliphate, he said a caliph was entrusted with the responsibility of enforcing Allah’s commands and establishing an effective and just system of governance. Citing Quranic verses, he said leadership on Earth was granted to those who were faithful and righteous.
He said that following the Prophet’s (PBUH) demise, Hazrat Ali (AS) played a pivotal role in strengthening the administrative and moral foundations of the caliphate and reinforcing the principle of obedience within the Muslim community.
The session was attended by a large number of religious scholars and participants.
