ISLAMABAD, Jan 19 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday granted protective bail to Advocate Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha to appear before the court on Tuesday, and has prevented them from being arrested.
Trial Court Judge Muhammad Afzal Majuka has ordered that both the accused should ensure their presence in the court within an hour of appearing in the High Court. Their statements under Section 342 will be recorded here.
Justice Azam Khan heard the petition of Advocate Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha against the trial court’s decision to issue arrest warrants in the controversial tweets case.
The petitioner’s lawyer Kamran Murtaza took the stand that the bail has been canceled twice and now an order has been issued to arrest them.
Kamran Murtaza said that Imaan Mazari is a woman and her health is poor.
The court granted one-day protective bail to Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha and adjourned the hearing, ordering them to appear before the court on Tuesday.
