Karachi has no shortage of talent, says RCA Karachi President as U-15 challenge league begins

KARACHI, Jan 19 (APP):President of the Regional Cricket Association Karachi (RCAK), Nadeem Omar, said that Karachi has no shortage of cricketing talent and that future stars are already visible at the Under-15 level.
He expressed these views while addressing players during the inauguration of the RCAK Under-15 Challenge League Cricket Tournament at the Oval Ground, NBP Cricket Stadium.
Nadeem Omar thanked PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Director Domestic Cricket Operations Abdullah Khurram Niazi for providing Karachi the opportunity to participate in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. He said Karachi players had justified their selection by winning the prestigious tournament. He added that the Under-15 and Under-17 tournaments are part of Khurram Niazi’s “Cricket for All” program, aimed at bringing young talent into the spotlight.
Chairman Tournament Committee Khalid Nafees said Nadeem Omar has played a consistent role in promoting cricket in Karachi and always supports development work without seeking personal publicity.
Earlier, Nadeem Omar formally inaugurated the tournament by hitting the first ball.
In the opening match, RCAK Green defeated RCAK Yellow by 108 runs. Batting first, RCAK Green scored 287 for 3 in 40 overs, with Muhammad Imam producing a brilliant unbeaten 145 off 111 balls, including 23 fours and one six. Qazi Syed Jasiruddin scored 40, Arman Shehzad made 32, Hassan Ahmed Siddiqui 31, and Rayyan Khan 19. In reply, RCAK Yellow managed 179 for 6 in 40 overs. Azaan Abbasi top-scored with 59, followed by Sufiyan Nazeer with 36 and Jazim Khan with 30. Mohammad Shayyan took 2 for 14, while Hasan Farhan claimed 2 for 16.
In another match at Jinnah College Ground, RCAK Blues beat RCAK Whites by eight wickets. RCAK Whites were bowled out for 144 in 37.4 overs, with Masood Ali scoring 82. Syed Shan-e-Baqar took 4 for 26, while Haider Ali and Abdur Rehman picked up two wickets each. Chasing the target, RCAK Blues reached 148 for 2 in 24.5 overs. Aaish Malik scored an impressive 79, hitting seven fours and four sixes, while Mohammad Wali added 23 and Faisal Qurban remained unbeaten on 19.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by RCA Karachi officials, including Acting Secretary Muhammad Touseef Siddiqui, assistant secretaries, zonal presidents and secretaries, legal advisor Nasir Yousuf, and other senior officials of the association.
