PESHAWAR, Jan 18 (APP):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control, Syed Fakhar Jehan on Sunday said that the provincial government is firmly committed to the welfare of the people, provision of basic facilities and ensuring development through concrete and effective measures.
He stated the provincial government has accorded top priority to the timely and sustainable resolution of public issues, adding that it is the government’s responsibility to provide relief to citizens at their doorsteps.
The provincial minister said the public service, transparent governance, and supremacy of merit were among prioritiesofvthe government.
He further added that under the leadership and patronage of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi, the provincial government is taking practical steps for the development of the province, particularly focusing on underdeveloped and remote areas, improvement of infrastructure and implementation of public welfare projects.
He expressed these views on Sunday while attending a Public Day at his constituency PK-26 Buner, where he spent a busy day interacting with the public.
Several public delegations from Buner and PK-26 met the provincial minister at his residence and shared their issues for redressal.
Syed Fakhar Jehan listened attentively to the problems of the people and issued clear on-the-spot directives to the concerned departments and officers for the immediate resolution of various issues.
He emphasized that unnecessary delays in addressing public grievances would not be tolerated.
The provincial minister further stated that any negligence or dereliction of duty by government institutions in serving the public is unacceptable, as the fundamental purpose of the government institutions is to serve the people and provide timely relief.
He directed the concerned quarters to ensure effective redressal of public complaints and to make sure that the benefits of government initiatives reach the common citizen.
