According to the official, Hasnain Azhar attempted to travel to Portugal using a fake resident card, which was detected during immigration clearance. Meanwhile, Muhammad Atif was found to be in contact with illegal travel agents in an attempt to reach Europe through unlawful channels.
The official said both passengers were immediately offloaded and shifted to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC), Islamabad, for further legal action and identification of the agents involved.
He added that further investigation is underway to trace facilitators and dismantle the network involved in document fraud and illegal migration attempts.
FIA Immigration reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining strict vigilance at airports to curb human smuggling, document fraud and illegal travel, and warned that no leniency would be shown to those involved in such activities.
