ISLAMABAD, Jan 18 (APP):In response to the fatal fire at Gul Plaza, Karachi, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Sunday, expressed deep grief and reaffirmed that human safety is the Sindh Government’s foremost concern, with a detailed inquiry already underway.
While speaking to a local news channel, Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that government agencies responded promptly, emphasizing that the priority remains extinguishing the fire and protecting lives.
He also warned that strict action would be taken if any negligence is found, as all available resources are being deployed to rescue human lives.
He emphasized that this is not the time for politics, urging everyone to focus on relief efforts and supporting the victims of the tragedy.
He confirmed that all cabinet members and government departments are closely monitoring the situation and actively coordinating rescue and relief operations.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of Sindh has directed a complete review of fire safety measures at Gul Plaza to check compliance with regulations, warning that anyone found negligent will face strict consequences.
The minister added that rescue teams, fire brigade personnel, and both federal and provincial agencies are working around the clock to control the fire.
He stated that the Sindh government is by the side of the victims’ families, offering assistance and support.
