RAWALPINDI, Jan 16 (APP):City Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam awarded cash incentives and certificates to 1,023 traffic wardens for good performance over the past 45 days, while disciplinary action was taken against 217 personnel for misconduct and poor efficiency.
A City Traffic Police (CTP) spokesman said on Friday that cash rewards and certificates were given to wardens who demonstrated dedication and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
He said 214 wardens were penalized for unsatisfactory performance, negligence and lack of interest in duty, while three officials were dismissed from service on charges of corruption.
In his message, the CTO said corruption, negligence and indiscipline would not be tolerated, adding that strict departmental action would continue against those bringing disrepute to the force.
He said honest and hardworking officers were the pride of the police department and would be encouraged and recognized at every level. The CTO urged all traffic wardens to perform their duties with commitment and a spirit of public service, without any pressure, saying their diligence and sense of responsibility set them apart. He said encouragement of personnel played a key role in further improving overall performance and service delivery.
