IGP Rizvi reviews crime prevention, anti-narcotics operations, police development projects

ISLAMABAD, Jan 15 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired a series of high-level meetings with DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, AIG Special Branch Muhammad Sarfaraz Virk, AIG Operations/Establishment Shoaib Masood, AIG Investigation/Development Syed Inayat Ali Shah, SSP CTD Arslan Shahzaib and other senior officers to review crime control measures, anti-narcotics operations and ongoing development projects.
A police spokesperson told APP on Thursday that the IGP conducted a comprehensive assessment of crime prevention strategies, intelligence-based operations, action against drug trafficking networks, and the arrest of wanted and proclaimed offenders. He directed officers to further strengthen coordination among law-enforcement agencies to ensure more effective results.

IGP Rizvi emphasized that drugs pose a serious threat to society and stressed the need for uninterrupted and vigorous action to eliminate the menace. He added that operations against criminal elements must be accelerated and carried out with full transparency, ensuring the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
The IGP Rizvi also reviewed the progress of development projects within the police department, welfare initiatives for officers and personnel, and overall administrative affairs. He directed that all ongoing projects be completed within specified timelines and according to approved standards, while welfare measures and administrative reforms should be strengthened to further enhance the department’s efficiency./
